Stephen Coxon, Owner/Manager, Soccerhead
Soccerhead is brought to you by Stephen Coxon, soccer mogul with experience on both sides of the game. A former University of Central Connecticut State University and Connecticut Wolves pro soccer club player in the A-League hailing from Newcastle, UK, Stephen is one of the founders of Connecticut Football Club (CFC), one of the nation’s top premier clubs that has sent players to every top college program in New England. Stephen is also co-owner of The CFC Arena. Stephen’s network is extensive and he is highly respected by the college coaching community.
Recently, Stephen led the Farmington High School Girls Soccer team to a No. 5 national ranking and a 108-9-8 record over seven seasons.
Since 2000, Coxon also has served as the director of coaching for the nationally-ranked CFC (Connecticut Football Club) and Connecticut United Football Club. CFC consists of 30 premier girls soccer teams located in the state of Connecticut.
Coxon's resume also includes an assistant coaching stint at the University of New Haven from 1997-99. Other coaching achievements include a USSF "B" License, being named 2003 CJSA Female Soccer Connecticut Coach of the Year, 2004 CGCSA Female Soccer Connecticut High School Coach of the Year and being the head coach of the 2003 CFC Wolves, who were ranked No. 1 in the Nation and were Region 1 Champions.
Presently, Coxon is also one of the owners and operators of the CFC Arena, a 40,000 square-foot indoor center located in Hamden, CT.
He holds a BA in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University.
